LSAT PrepTests 69, 70, 71 are $10 each on LSAC's website
Just a heads-up to anyone preparing for the LSAT on a budget:
LSAC is charging $10 for PrepTests 69 (June 2013), 70 (October 2013), and 71 (December 2013) when purchasing through its website.
In other news, the price of registering for the LSAT has increased to $165 for the June 2013 - February 2014 testing year. Last testing year, it was $160. The year before that, $139.

I really wish i could order preptest 69 now. I would gladly pay the $10. I would probably even pay it even if they charged $10,000

They can raise it to $500 for all I care. Keeps the number of test takers low.

What are the chances it is available on other sources for cheaper shortly after they release the test? Guess they need to raise the price to account for the drop in test takers.LSAT Blog wrote:Just a heads-up to anyone preparing for the LSAT on a budget:

Good point. How does LSAC determine that? Do dependents matter?RhymesLikeDimes wrote:Sounds like you people need to be poorer. Fee waiver FTW.

Yes, when LSAC raised the test registration fees to $160 from $139 last year, its president wrote that the size of the increase was due to the drop in test takers.

Sweet! I will make sure to pick up Test 69 from you then. When do you have those available usually?LSAT Blog wrote:These exams will be available for less on my site here:jrsbaseball5 wrote:What are the chances it is available on other sources for cheaper shortly after they release the test? Q: Who wouldn't be able to take it due to prohibitive expense?objection_your_honor wrote:They can raise it to $500 for all I care. Keeps the number of test takers low.
A: The poorest students, assuming they don't receive LSAC waivers, wouldn't be able to take it due to prohibitive expense.
Q: What would that mean for your percentile rank when you take the LSAT?
A: Your percentile rank will likely be lower, because you'll take a test whose difficulty was determined by the performance of a larger proportion of financially wealthy students, all of who are, on average, likely to perform better on the test relative to the poorest students.

Approximately 3 weeks after the test date, when test-takers receive their scores for that exam. So, I expect to have PrepTest 69 available in late June or early July.jrsbaseball5 wrote:Sweet! But also: a smaller applicant pool causes admissions standards to dip and TTTTs to close.LexLeon wrote:Q: Who wouldn't be able to take it due to prohibitive expense?objection_your_honor wrote:They can raise it to $500 for all I care. Keeps the number of test takers low.

Glad you enjoy my site!
However, 71 isn't available on my site yet. I assume you mean you bought it on LSAC's site?

Haha, it's all good. Since you mentioned it, some general tips on LSAT misreads:sublime12089 wrote:LSAT Blog wrote:Glad you enjoy my site!

I actually completely misread everything that happened in this thread. Interestingly, that is my biggest LSAT issue (misreads)!
Always take the time to read the LR stimulus thoroughly before evaluating the answer choices, and take an extra moment when reading each LG rule to make sure you've diagrammed correctly (and not diagrammed the reverse or some other mistake). And, for RC (especially detail or inference questions), always have textual support for any answer choice you pick.
Taking an extra few seconds to make sure you understand everything correctly is really worth it.
