Do you remember your first PT score?

So I'm trying do decide whether or not I should spend the next few months prepping hard for the LSAT, and I was wondering if anyone remembers what their scores were on the first practice test they took before preparing. The reason being, I just took the LSAC 2007 PT and didn't score very high. I'm sure months of prep work would help me raise it quite a bit, but I'll need ~170 to get into the schools I want. Thanks in advance to anyone with input!

First prep test was a 158. Lowest ever was a 152. Scored a 171. Attending a T10 school. Good luck.

164 at the end of January. Consistently 175-177 after 4 months of heavy prep.

171, wound up somewhat higher. Doesn't matter though, I've definitely seen people jump from 150s to 170s. It is very common if you put in the work, the test just takes some getting used to.

My diagnostic was a 158. Studied for two days, and three days after my diagnostic, scored a 166. Never went below a 166 again. Scored significantly better than 158 (or even 166, for that matter) on test day after a couple months of studying. Don't be terrified by a shitty diagnostic.

Started with a 154, scored a 165 in December, and I'm currently PTing in the 170-174 range.

Thanks everyone, I don't feel as discouraged now. I've had alot of down time at work today and thought I'd give them a shot and scored much lower than expected. Granted, I'm running on about 4 hours sleep, I expected to reach at least 160.

You have over four months until the October test. As long as you take the test seriously and commit yourself, you should see great gains in your score, especially for your first month of studying.

Same here. The logic games are easiest for me so far, my reading comprehension could use some serious improvement before the test though.

Kind of. I remember it being it being in the high 50s. It was a diagnostic test, which I'm against people taking. I think it is an absolutely awful idea until after at least some prep. And I explicitly remember giving up in the games section, not even getting to the last RC section, and wondering if flaw answer choices were in a dialect I was unfamiliar with.

I liked the idea of a diagnostic because I was able to see immediate results in my studying. Going from a 154 > 162 in around 3 weeks was very rewarding and kept my motivation level high.

This. It was great motivation to see where you came from.
