Law School applications overall are the lowest since I think the 70s. Everyone's going to be more desperate this year.Romney23 wrote:If you google Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, or even University of Washington School of Law, google ads come up urging you to apply there. This seems very shady. Have applications gone down a lot this cycle?
This is a very Cooley-like situation.

Apps have gone down a lot this cycle.

Were any of you influenced to apply to a law school because you saw it in a Google ad?
(Yes, I know TLS isn't representative of the applicant pool, but still.)

I don't have a problem with this. It's not like they're Cooley and advertising for a shitty school. Yale's admissions dean has an interview on here. She didn't do that for her health. It's advertising.

Re: WUSTL Admissions Google Ads
Google tends to adjust search based on your past history and use of it... With that said, I have seen other schools with google ads for applying(most are tier 2). I think your comparison of it to Cooley is over dramatic. If someone applies to the school because of a google ad, chances are they have not looked into law school enough to find the right school for them, or their numbers are nowhere near good enough to attend.Romney23 wrote:A law school advertising with google ads is a sign of desperation. That's something that crappy law schools like Cooley does. I wonder if they're actually desperate for applicants, because no other law schools in their range are using google ads.
