Does anyone use a highlighter during the test? I didn't even know it was allowed until last week.

Seems like it would be a waste of time to me.

Highlighting in general is something I find to be quite useless and tends to slow my progress and even understanding of the passage. Last thing I need is to continually drop one pencil to grab a highlighter and then back. I doubt it would be of much use anymore than underlining with a pencil.
That said, to each his own.

I started prep using a highlighter, but eventually found it just slowed me down.

underline/bracket the RC. You wont be switching writing implements every few lines.

I've read that because the paper is so thin, the highlighter will bleed through and sometimes rip the paper.

Every time you switch between highlighter and pencil it costs you time -- that should be enough of an argument for you to abandon the idea immediately.
