I have. Not uncommon at all.

It is not exactly common, since LSAC says around 7% or so retake more than once (I could be wrong, I'm too lazy to confirm right now). That said, whether it is common or not should have no effect on you while studying. If you feel you will do better, then retake...

"Most people take the test only once; last year 66.2 percent of the
total number of test takers took the LSAT just one time; 26.3 percent took the test twice; and approximately 7.4 percent took
the LSAT more than twice" - LSAC

Sorry, I actually worded it wrong here. I meant to say more than twice.

That's fantastic. What happened your first time around? Not yet ready? Fluke?

Test nerves. I lost a lot of time looking up at the clock that I could have used reading stimuli. Also I was probably a little better prepared.

February was my 3rd attempt.
Feb '11-152
June '12-165
First attempt was my first timed LSAT, pretty much equivalent to a cold diagnostic. My UG prelaw advisor gave me some great advise...

Yep. Took it three years ago. Then re-took it this past December and again in February. I got a fee waiver later though, so I didn't hesitate to take it for the third time.

My thought is if you have three chances, take all of them until you max out your score.

I hadn't seen your 170 man, congrats!
Our three scores are very similar. *brofist*

My first attempt is 148.
I was PTing around 150 at that time.
I retook this past Feb.
I was PTing at 163 before that.
I will retake this June I think (depending on my Feb score).
I was wondering..if you guys have any advice. I did the Powerscore LG and LR bibles. I bought the RC bible but never really read it. Just the intro. I am naturally good at the RC section and I figured to invest more time in the LR and LG bibles. I would typically get around 20-22 correct for RC. 17-24 in LR randomly. And, around 15-17 in LG. I bought the Outside LSAT advanced book from amazon and it really helped boost me from my 150 PT's to the 160's. It provided me with the hardest questions. I did them, took my time, and really concentrated hard on teaching myself what I needed to do to with each question type (particularly in LR).

You're on the right track. Redo Powerscore LG, then do Manhattan LSAT LG. LG should be 0x every time.
I'd recommend the Manhattan LSAT LR book -- and using their forums for additional, question-specific explanations.
Sounds like you're all set for RC -- just keep repping to refine and develop your method. Read all of Mik Ekim's posts about turning your LSAT ability into habits/routines.

For RC, read a lot in your free time (study when you can, but if you can't study any more and you want to watch some TV, tough cookies; read a book). To improve your LR skills, before you look at the answer choices, try really hard to formulate an answer in your head. It'll develop your ability to actively think about the information.
My greatest weakness on the test was LG. I should have drilled more. because of how slow I was I missed the fourth game and lost 5 questions. If not for that, my 170 would've probably been a 175.
