24 PTs in a month?

I'm a retaker aiming for a 170+ on the Feb LSAT

After drilling games and some LR types (and reading the Manhattan LR, RC, LG and parts of the PS LGB), I've begun my PT schedule. I took my first on Dec 29, 2012 and scored a 166 (88 RS) with -5 total on LR, -6 on RC, and -2 on LG. Timing and fatigue were major issues. Only on maybe 1 LR q was I totally stumped and reviewing my test, it wasn't because I hadn't seen the q type before, but just misread the right answer choice.

Is 24 PTs in the next 38 days too much? My goal, obviously, is as close to 180 as possible but I'll be satisfied being anywhere in the 170 range.

doing those PTs are useless unless you review every question missed on them.

If you have the time to dedicate 4 hours per day (essentially a test each day) for 6 days a week, it is definitely doable. You should review the questions you got wrong. I had essentially the same schedule and in a month bumped my score up 9 points.

+1. I also strongly encourage writing out why the correct answer choice is in fact correct, and why each wrong answer choice is in fact wrong.

Yeah, I imagine it'll take like 4 hrs of actual test-taking and then 1-1.5 hrs of review and re-doing qs if necessary.

You should only be doing 3 PTs max a week. 3 PT days plus review and 3 days of drilling with 1 day of semi-rest. That was my own schedule though.

I tried doing that many and after about ten felt exhausted and noticed a pretty huge drop in my score. I think you would be much better off to aim for around 15, with good review for each PT. If the test doesn't go as planned you then have quite a few left over to study from.

dude having 24 PTs is so much better than running out of material
so at least you're betting off in that aspect! :D

It depends on how much time you have. If you can study 6~8hrs a day, AND you have enough fresh PTs, you SHOULD do a pt every day and review. If you can study 4 hours max a day, you need 4 hrs to take and 4 hrs to review. So you can only do 15 in 30 days, and so forth.

Doing PTs are useless unless you review them. The more in depth you review, the more useful they are. The less in depth, the less useful. It's better to do 15 PTs and review them thoroughly than do 30 and review them haphazardly.
