How badly does it hurt my chances that I have been absent once (due to lacke of preparation) and cancelled twice (due the same illness)? I plan on retaking in June.

I don't think the absent will matter. The 2 cancellations will look suspicious but since they are both due to the same illness, I think if you write an addendum explaining you have a chronic illness (I'm assuming it's chronic?) then that should be fine.

My guess is that it won't look great. I would write an addendum explaining, otherwise who knows what crazy conclusions adcomms will come up with.

Just take the damn test.

What kind of illness? I got a flu shot this year (I never do because I'm lazy when it comes to getting up and going somewhere not absolutely necessary, and I get a nasty flu every single year around this time) and amazingly I was perfectly fine for the test .
