Yeah. Wouldn't mind pretending that dinosaurs never existed either.rebexness wrote:The tests are equated, so it doesn't much matter. Any idea why this is? Since it is predetermined (right?), I doubt it accounts for the later start time?

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I have to fight the urge, I'm guessing just like you, to go and grab a pt to see if I'm doing better. One thing that keeps from grabbing a pt is knowing I haven't completely grasped all of the conceptual shit yet with drilling so why test my understanding when I haven't finished the "understanding" part. (Plus run the risk of a crappy score killin my confidence bc at least for me the state of mind I'm in when I hit the books definitely affects how well I do) I'm trying pretty hard to stick to the plan and drill most of pt 1-40 by the end of the month then take take a full pt or two to see where I stand and what needs to be worked on. Say you take a pt now and you missed some parallel questions, but you haven't covered the bible chapter or drilled so what does that really tell you? Just my two cents. Never taken the test but I guess timed pts for those of us who have already started prepping are safe to reserve for the last 3 months. Drill 1-40 and time 40-67 nd super prep. Even if you start pting in march it's 2 tests a week--should be enough.Daily_Double wrote:Couldn't sleep, so after watching an entire season of curb your enthusiasm, I reviewed my mistakes from PT 7 last night. In the hour that I have been awake today, I have drilled strengthen and weaken questions, but my phone battery was zero...so untimed. Since I recognized one of the games from PT 7 and vaguely remembered at least one of the LR questions I think my data, like Barry Bonds career, will be asterisked. I'm going to do timed sections of Preptest A from Superprep to get a better idea of where I stand.

I loled pretty hard at your post bc I'm doing almost the exact same thing. Fixed my sleep schedule today by forcing a 7 am wake up call by putting the alarm on the opposite side of my room since I was waking up in the afternoon. Same notes for mlrb too lol. Let me know if u wanna prep together. I went through LR in a slightly different way though--chapter drill chapter drill review. If u to talk strategy and scheduling pm me.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I don't know...does this necessarily mean the June test is harder? The looser the curve the harder the test no? I think the June test (total speculation btw) may be a better test for those who have prepped intensely and are thoroughly familiar with the structure and tendencies of the LSAT. If the raw score required for a 170 is higher for the June test in comparison to the rest of the administrations, then it could be inferred that there is a relatively smaller amount of difficult or "impossible" questions on the June test. It's harder in terms of raw score sufficient for a particular score, perhaps not content. Total hypothetical..more likely wishful thinking. Who the hell knows what LSAC does or thinks when coming up with the conversion. 180 or bust accounts for both harder and easier. Honestly what's the real difference between a 176 and a 180...seriously...except maybe increased chances at YPed from 7-14 lol.rebexness wrote:The tests are equated, so it doesn't much matter. First post!
Got a 153 in February, 163 in December. Shooting for 173! I'll probably just live in this thread and stay motivated. Going to review the PS&Manhattan books first and start drilling in March.

shieldofachilles & Daily_Double,
You two are really having a fast pace..... My first month ( Dec 2012 ) is dedicated solely to game.... I am thinking about changing Steve's seven months plan a little bit because I feel like I can do so much more.
I am thinking about 10+ hours everyday before I take my internship, any suggestions on pick up my pace? Right now I am almost done with must be true/most strongly supported/cannot be true LR questions, did all the questions from PT 1-38. I haven't even touched Manhattan's LR book yet.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I am also planning on retaking in June. Previous score was a 166 a year ago, aiming for as high as I can get (180) and willing to work for it. Anyone have any tips on making inferences in the LG section? I seem to struggle on making some of the harder deductions in the beginning setup of the games and consequently lose precious time once I start in on the questions. Is drill, repeat, drill the best way to train myself to recognize inferences or can anyone offer a different approach?

Everyone talking about how they're going to do 5+ hours a day until June are in for a rude awakening. You'll either get burned out or burn through all your PTs and have no real score increase. Two to four hours are all you need unless doing timed PTs. Reviewing your mistakes and spreading out your testing will generally allow more time for drilling and fixing your problems, which is the real way to increase your overall score.

We have plenty of time until June; quality should be emphasized over quantity. I studied about 6-7 hours everyday for 3 months for the October test and I can honestly say there were times were I felt burnt out -- going to cut that down to 4 a day this time around.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Getting back into this! I did terribly in December so I'm going again in June. I'm going to do one PT today to see where I stand and after this I am NOT doing another PT for at least 2 MONTHS!! I'm gonna give drilling the respect it deserves. I have renewed optimism and I am going to work differently this time. It is so tempting to continuously do PT after PT but that is really a recipe for disaster in the earlier stages of your prep. Anywho, here I go....wish me luck!!!

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
TIP: For LR questions that I get wrong in PT's (or get right but had to guess between 2 possible answers), after fully reviewing them and (hopefully) having an understanding of why, I'm going to reprint the question(s) and file them away somewhere. Then in a few months, I'll go back and look at the questions I got wrong (other than the ones that are too recent and I'll just remember the answer at that time) and drill them. Hopefully will reinforce the concepts that I haven't totally narrowed down.

Anybody else checking the "Acceptances, Waitlists, and Denials" threads of schools you want to attend, even though not applying for another year?

I was considering buying hoodies from my top schools and wearing them while I jog so I can dream and shit.weathercoins wrote:Anybody else checking the "Acceptances, Waitlists, and Denials" threads of schools you want to attend, even though not applying for another year?
