I broke down this question down to formal logic:
Evidence:
aesthetic value discussed -> possible for at least two readers to agree on the correct interpretation
Conclusion:
objective evaluation possible -> possible for at least two readers to agree on the correct interpretation
Assumption:
aesthetic value discussed -> objective evaluation possible
The correct answer choice (D) states:
objective evaluation possible -> aesthetic value discussed
Can someone explain what I'm doing incorrectly?

Almost right. Your assumption is backwards. It should be:lsatownsme wrote:I broke down this question down to formal logic:

- objective evaluation possible -> aesthetic value discussed
- objective evaluation possible -> aesthetic value discussed -> possible for at least two readers to agree on the correct interpretation -> popular belief false

I would look at this problem a little bit differently from both of you,
A)wrong cause only if (dont like that),also it says it has aesthetic value ,the argument says aesthetic value be discussed not the same thing.
B)says if 2 readers agree about the meaning of a given poem, but the argument says 2 readers agree on the correct interpretation of the poem.
c)Discussion of the poetry(doesnt say aesthetic discussion) ,wait the argument says aesthetic value of a poem to be discussed.
D)connects 2 exact elements the way they are in the argument
E)best accomplished red flag for you so wrong for that reason
