First time scores vs Retake scores?

I'm curious how many of the 175+ are retakers and how many aren't.

It feels like since I've done this test once now, if I study and prep for it and take it again, I can significantly increase my score. I walked into this Oct administration wide-eyed with big dreams of a 180, but got beat down like a Nazi in down town New York. Now, I was lazy and slacked on my prep I know that; I'm the only one to blame for not getting a higher score.

I just see lots of 177's and 175+'s; how many of you guys are doing this on your first shot? Mad props man.

Lesson: Don't slack off on your studying just because you feel like you know the stuff already.
Thanks, Howl.

Didn't take it this time but my good score was a +7 retake. It takes a lot of work to get there, no shame in having a first rough go at it to kind of wake you up and make you buckle down.

This was my first time, and I got a 174. If it weren't for TLS, though, I would for sure have been blind-sided and taken it in June for a 165.

cold diagnostic 158, first time score 169, retake 176. Just lots of practices... I overestimated myself the first around, and really really studied for the retake.

June 170, October 177.
I basically did a milder version of Noodley's retaker guide, and it worked wonders. Since you know you didn't prep as much or as well as you could, give yourself a lot of time (I had 3 months between June score release and October test day as opposed to one month between the end of finals and June) and bust ass. It's possible.
