how effective is books with questions by type?

i am writing Lsat in december, and im getting perfect on LG, but LR i get -5 constantly and i want to really reduce that... so are books such as:
LSAT Logical Reasoning by Type, Volume 2: All 1,012 Logical Reasoning Questions from PrepTests 21-40, Grouped by Type and Arranged by Difficulty (Cambridge LSAT)

good or not? Doing questions sorted by type is effective? or just doing more and more of Lsat LR sections better?

Also, during doing these questions sorted in that book, would i need to time myself or not? Thanks

Helped me a lot, especially by doing a lot of low-difficulty ones in a row.
I got a lot faster because I didn't over-think the easy ones as much, which gave more time for harder ones. :)

I've found them VERY helpful. You start seeing patterns that you wouldn't otherwise see and it helps you get more efficient.

Very. I purchased every question by type from Cambridge LSAT (taken from PTs 1-38). I did them all in under a month. It increased my speed and allowed me to see patterns. Source: I was PTing -0 to -2 per LR section by the end of my prep.

thanks

but some said, having all preptests and then going on Lsat blog spot (where the questions are grouped by types) is same thing, is it true? what does these books that are mentioned above have that i won't be able to get from doing what i just said?

Save you time perhaps? And you might benefit from the various difficulty ratings that they provide so you can study easy/medium/hard questions as you wish.

I'm wondering as well though, what do yall think of LR by type vs LR by section? I'm trying to get a more consistent -0 going, wondering if I should switch gears to achieve that goal.

If you pound them out by type you see the pattern develop in how they ask specific questions. Section is good once you have everything together and want to practice them in full.

I can't imagine how inconvenient this would be. Plus how would you develop a rhythm?

I used to use the LSAT blog method. Free but WAY inconvenient and messy.

God i hope i have enough time until December 1st to finish this book and take like 10-15 preptests before the test itself :D

Is it useful to get Volumes 1, 2 and 3 for LR or just 1 and 2 so I can use PTs 41-Present for timed testing?
