You may be drilling the wrong way. Don't just do generic drilling from the beginning; you should be starting with focused drilling. Pick up a book on LR (Like Manhattan) and then pick up the Cambridge Logic Reasoning organized by type and arranged in difficulty. Read a chapter in the Manhattan book, digest it, then move into the focused study, drilling each of the 100-200 questions from a particular type. Then, when finished, review them, see what your missing, particularly with the difficult ones; then, when you feel your ready, move to the next chapter, repeat. Do that. When your done with each type, THEN move to the mixed drilling. You may want to leave the mixed stuff for the Preps.

I agree that you should read a book or two on strategy. Manhattan is great. After you've gotten completely through that, focusing on the question types that give you the most trouble is probably a good idea.

Also, I don't know how you've been practicing, but I'm a big believer in taking your time during practice. Don't worry at all about how fast you're going. I hardly ever timed myself on anything other than full practice tests, and by the time I took the test last week, I'd had three straight PTs with no LR questions wrong at all. Just do a large quantity of questions and take your time and get familiar with all their ins and outs.

Yea, definitely take your time to digest the logic and why exactly the answer is right. Don't just do the, "Oh yea, that's obvious, I'm an idiot!" and then move. Unfortunately, everything tends to look "obvious" after the fact with the LR. Say, "Why is that the answer? What hole needs to be filled in?" or "Where in the stimulus was the answer made?" . It's tough and can feel arbitrary, but with focused drilling you'll become increasingly aware of it.
