I remember reading somewhere on TLS about a person who took it 4 times and made it into U of Minnesota.

You can request to take it a 4th time in a two-year period.

OP-I *just* took the LSAT three times, but I felt my application cycle was pretty typical for where I was competitive based on my highest LSAT score. (It may have hurt me at NYU and Chicago though--I should have been decently competitive at both, but was WL'd at both.)

I am only like, 1 year removed from these 0Ls posting such questions. I meet questions like these with an odd mix of "yea I know why you'd ask that" and "why the hell would you ask that????"

Don't worry OP. You'll be a bona fide law student soon enough. May I suggest you now get laid and party a lot? ...Alas you won't take my advice...

Why T-20? I understand the question in relation to T14, but T14 isn't comparable to T16-T20 as far as job prospects go and what not...

Schools aren't going to care how many times you take it if you do well enough.

i think the data would suggest that which is not true, that schools average mostly because people who wind up doing well on the LSAT rarely have to take it 4 times.

i took 3 times, and it had absolutely no negative affect on my cycle. Caveat: I go to a T25 (and by 25, I mean 35).

- I took the LSAT three times over a two year period. (I had a double digit jump from my first & second scores to my final/third score)
- I was also a re-applicant, having been rejected by most of the schools I applied to during my first application cycle
- I got into a good handful of T-20 schools (with scholarships)
- I currently attend a T-10 school and I actually have a classmate who took the LSAT four times.
