Best Seat in the House?
If your testing center allows you to choose a seat, which do you go for?
Closest to front to avoid seeing others or farther back to avoid proctor distraction?

Two of the three times I took the test the seats were basically assigned. If they aren't go for an end seat, that way you aren't squished.

In the middle so I can fix bad bubbling on previous sections without being noticed

front! last time I was there, they setup their digital timer on the front desk and had it facing towards us. It was like a kitchen timer, pretty small, and being near back I couldn't really see it.

I didn't know anywhere let you pick! I'm pretty sure they assigned my seat well in advance.

What ever you do be sure your window seat which may seem fine at 8:30am doesn't become all sunny, hot, and/or uncomfortable as the test progresses.

Do most test centres have digital timers? That would be a huge incentive to sit at the front (and arrive extra early)MsAvocadoPit wrote:front! last time I was there, they setup their digital timer on the front desk and had it facing towards us. On my first testing, I sat next to a window with blinds. Someone requested that the blinds be opened (WHY?!). After a while, I had streams of sunlight coming through the blinds and making it difficult to read my booklet. I had to raise my hand and request that they be closed.
Just don't bother with window seats, not worth it.
I would probably sit near the front. Seems a little less claustrophobic to me to have nothing in front of you, instead of a row of people.

I would say that perhaps sitting in front of the window in daytime would be better than right under fluorescent light. I live in NYC, so I doubt the weather in Dec will permit either an open window or sunshine.
