What's the best way to approach these? They seem to be wasting alot of my time. I realize that this question type inherently takes longer but does anyone have a specific strategy for it?

I like to eliminate ones that I know just looking at them are incorrect. That usually leaves 2-3 left. Then I look for ones that clearly address some aspect of the rule, but doesn't address it completely.

For a simple example, if the rule being substituted is "A must come immediately before B", there is a pretty good chance one of the answers choices will be something like "There can be no other variables between A and B". This incorrect answer choice captures the fact that AB must be next to each other, but it doesn't capture the fact that the order has to be AB. Hope that helps

i think these require and test a foundational awareness of the entire game, which is why they come at the end. It really gets you thinking about what you have been doing prior. Keep track of rules and how they work and have developed over the last few questions and so you'll have a greater awareness of what can be lost. By the end, you should have build a good amount of inferences from the questions you just answered to be able to see just what a replacement could do. Not an easy question (often) and certainly most time consuming (which is why, I think, you should prepare for it by answering the more easy ones (like the first) as quickly as possible.

Since these questions come last, I will glance at the last question of each game to see if the game has one. I keep it in the back of my mind, and through out the game try to visualize the big picture and what role the rule plays. By the time I get back to the question, I usually have a good sense of the rule and can spot the correct answer.
