Hi hi,

My LSAT ticket tells me to arrive no later than 8:30am, I am wondering approximately what time will be I expected to begin writing the test? or does it vary significantly.

It varies. sometime between right away and after a while.

It will depend on a number of things. Your proctor could be inept. You may be with a large group of test-takers requiring extra time to get everyone situated.

If I was to guess, sometime around 9.

Very interested in what you consider the optimal amount of time between waking up and taking tests.

Totally depends. Don't go in planning for X minutes because chances are it won't be X minutes and you'll just freak yourself out.

It could take forever to check everyone in and get them seated. Sometimes people actually get split up into smaller rooms. Sometimes there are lot of idiots who didn't read any of the instructions and bog everything down. Sometimes it's a small testing venue and things go smoothly.

Somewhere between 30 minutes and 3 hours.

Unfortunately, it depends.

the first time I took the test, it was 2 hours. But we had a TON of people, a giant testing center, etc.

the second time, I was in a room of 15 people. Took 25 minutes or so.

I think the thing to do is talk to someone who's taken the test at your specific testing center before.

Look at the time delay as a blessing, not a curse. Sitting at the desk for an hour seems like a pain now, but I can tell you from experience that you will be completely ok with it lasting a little longer on the day of the LSAT. It gives you a chance to calm your nerves and clear your head.

Ah, looks like I will just go in and hope for the best with no expectations. But I will ask my friends for sure, thanks for all the advice so far.
