I thought this might be a good idea for all of us preparing for the exam, in terms of morale and tips. Just post something you've noticed in your studying that is an indication of improvement. I'll start...

I'm beginning to notice in necessary assumption LR questions that the leap in logic (correct answer choice) is beginning to jump out after I read the stimulus. This is definitely an improvement for me.

For me it was focusing on the FLOW of the passage. I also sped up my reading pace a little. I don't really annotate except for the thesis/main point and if something jumps out at me.

Definitely need to cut 1 or 2 of those out but I think given the amount of time I have left I'll be able to bring that to a more consistent -0/-1 by test time. 175 looks possible so I'm happy.

I just got my highest raw score ever and tied my highest scaled score, so I'm feeling okay. Also, I studied and drilled Parallel reasoning and flaw the past few days and nailed them on my last PT. Hopefully that continues through multiple tests.

I hit my best score of -2 at RC. Games all time high at -4 today too. But LR raped me..the last two tests my LR has gone down from like -3 to -7/8!! per section! I just finished test 44 so hopefully it will fix itself soon.

I am super happy with LG and RC though

Same. After a trio of 167s, I went -5 on PT48 today for a 174 (96 raw). Feeling amped.

177 on PT 4... buuuut I did the RC untimed because my RC question answering needs some serious work and it was split by individual section with several breaks between.

Well for the past couple of practice tests/timed sections (like 3 total) I was at -1/-2 at the time of that post, but I didn't want to make a judgment based on that. Then I took two more and was again at -1/-2 so I felt pretty confident I had made the jump at that point. After looking back, and reading Mike Kim's 170 thread, I realized it has much less to do with practicing and review as it did just with changing my approach. Now I just read for flow/reasoning and don't worry about the details. If I remember the details, great, if not, I generally know where to find them.

Sign of improvement:

After a 14 month break, I started studying for the LSAT a week ago. Have taken 3 PT's since. On the first PT, LG took me an hour (and I still got 4 wrong). On the second, took me 45 mins (got 4 wrong). Last night, I finished in exactly 35 minutes, and got 2 wrong (granted, it was PT 48, with the brutal curve). Definitely getting back into the hang of LG.

Those are my weakest LR question. Manhattan was decent for them, but the content on assumption questions made it well worth the purchase.

I think the thing that always got me on PR is I couldn't see past the language. It's weird because I don't have a problem with that on other types and sections, but something about parallel always tripped me up. I think I'm better at eliminating that now, so I am feeling really confident.

PRs are also my worst question type. Did you do anything other than drilling them, or was that sufficient enough to help? I'm drilling strengthen questions right now, but plan on doing PR after I'm done with these.

Yeah, I'm totally with you there. The language kills me on those questions, and I don't know why. I can usually eliminate three answer choices and am then left with 2, and somehow I often choose the wrong one.

Had my first -0 LR section today. Though I complemented that with my worst LR section in the same test. So, not sure if that's an improvement overall.

I once went -0 on one LR section and -8 on the other section - and this was on the real thing.

There are few feelings quite like getting your first -0 on a section, or a -0 on any section at any time for that matter. I've done it once on twice on LG, once on LR, and zero on RC, but I've resigned myself to the fact that RC is a crap shoot no matter what anyhow.

hell no ^....BUT I WAS SO CLOSE TO MY FIRST -0 LG LAST NIGHT!. I seriously thought i had it but ended up going -5. Still my best section yet though. My mistakes were just misreads. Very, very stupid rushing mistakes.

Here's hoping, at least. Now I'm -0/-4, which is a bit wide for my liking. Last two tests have been -0 and -1 though, so hopefully that maintains.
