PT fluctuating in 160-165 range right now... I'd like to be in 170-175 range by October... is this possible? I know that TLS is a self-selective bunch but hearing how people are PT-ing at 170s already gets me really nervous. This is my first take, and hopefully my last!

At what frequency are you taking PTs?
Take them days apart and do sections on your off days. I scored the highest after taking exactly 5 days off from my last test.
Times when I took them back to back - def saw a dip in scores.

Totally normal to fluctuate, and don't worry about how others are already in the 170s.

Minnbills is correct on both points.
LSAC says that any given score has a score band of +/- 3 points, and an applicant will score within this band 66% of the time. So, if you score 162, the band is 159-165, and you should score within the band 66% of the time. There is very little difference between a 162 and a 165 on the LSAT. However, there is a huge difference between a 162 and a 165 in regards to admission to law school, especially if the higher score puts you at or above the median.

Two weeks ago I scored a 174 on a practice test, last week I scored a 166, and yesterday I scored a 175. So there's fluctuation for you.

170 - 175 is definitely possible, nothing to worry about. Keep at it

Even after finishing LGB and some Drilling, i keep going wonky with LG going from -1 upto -9... ogod what's going on. I am praying that -9 was an anomaly.

Are you rechecking and figuring out what went wrong, or are you just taking tests blindly? If you know what went wrong, just go back and fix it. If not, go identify what went wrong.

I have now taken about 12 PTs timed. Ive scored 165 every time besides a 167 and a 158 once. I do review my work thoroughly but I think I just haven't made the push to 170 yet because of how few PTs I've done compared to most other people preparing for October. Ive been following my own pithypike adaptation and drilling Kaplan mastery, which I will finish next weekend according to my plan. Thoughts/suggestions?

I've only taken roughly 7 PTs timed so far (I know, so pitiful compared to the wopping 20s I see on here). I too would appreciate the suggestions.. would really like to move into the 170s to have some peace of mind!
