Scoring a 120

Post by DaRascal » Tue Jun 19, 2012 5:53 pm

Has anyone ever tried to score a 120 on purpose after they were already accepted to the school of their choice? I think it'd be pretty cool to attempt it because it's probably just as hard to score a 120 as it is to get a 160 or so because there's a slight chance you can accidentally get a question right on a confusing question.

Anyone else thinking about trying it out? Maybe with your 2nd or 3rd take?

Most Recent LSAC Repeater Data

At least 26 people who had scored a 120 retook the LSAT in 2010-2011.

5 of them, mind you, managed to score another fucking 120.

Do you think anyone's had a 180 and a 120?
If not, I think that guy who got 3 180s should do it. He'd become known as Mr. LSAT.

My theory is close to being empirically verified: every third thought that pops into your head gets its own thread.

I scored three 120s, though the bastards at LSAC haven't "officially" released the last one because I admitted I was just doing it for the lulz.

Dave Hall is only one 180 and a 120 away. I think he can do it.

I also wonder about the 174 scorer who retook and dropped to the 150's..

I wonder if they ran out of time on a game or something and then knew that they couldn't pull it back. I wouldn't bother trying if I knew I had already sunk myself. Could also be a bubbling error.

I really cannot understand this. The raw score necessary to get a 120 is around 15. Randomly guessing one letter pockets someone, at least, around 19 or 20 raw points.

I don't believe that someone (of college level) can be so cognitively impaired such that his score, after genuinely attempting to do well, is lower than it would be had he guessed all one letter throughout the exam.

Those people that scored a 120, I think, did so on purpose.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
