It doesn't count. People say that they aren't read. SO why do it?

Thanks, I'm not too worried though. You have the link to that video? What school was it?VasaVasori wrote:I don't think it's necessary. Maybe do one to feel comfortable.Br3v wrote:Still haven't practiced one yet however
But everyone seems to think that as long as it's coherent and well thought out it shouldn't hurt you.
Don't make stuff up. I was watching the group of law school admission counselors in that one video go over an application where someone was just making stuff up in their essay that wasn't mentioned in the prompt and it seemed to hurt their perception of his application. It may be a good idea to treat the essay like LR questions: don't bring in any information that's not provided in the stimulus.
Why would they have a different point-of-view when theirs is correct? You by no means have to crank out publishable material, but to leave it blank would be retarded. You don't even have to practice it. Just write for 35 minutes that makes you sound semi-sober and you're good to go.NewYorkL wrote:Just wanted to start a discussion. I've started plenty of worse threads don't worry lol. But I did watch the video about the Adcoms reviewing applications and they considered the samples more than I thought they would (I figured not at all) but if you just treat it as a joke it seemed it had the potential to hurt youNewYorkL wrote:Just wanted to start a discussion. some schools literally say that not doodling is all they ask for on the writing section. Write something coherent for 15 minutes then go to the bathroomScotusnerd wrote:If you want to sit there and look like a retard for 35 minutes, be my guest.
For god's sake, just do the damn thing! It's part of the test. Don't give a school an excuse to boot you. Don't be the stupid one that doodles on it, either!
This is not rocket science, folks.

This. And good grief Charlie Brown, don't prep for it. That takes gunning to the extreme.JamMasterJ wrote:Write something coherent for 15 minutes then go to the bathroom
