The writing portion is in the same booklet as the rest of the test. Just like the practice tests.
I had crazy adrenaline, and I finished all my LR and RC sections with 10-15 minutes to spare. I'm usually a fast reader but that was insane.

I did pretty well. I think I could have studied better and longer, but I was happy with my result.

I'm hoping that I get a solid adrenaline boost. I feel like a good night's rest, good breakfast/snack, and a clear head to focus on nothing else will hopefully be worth a couple of points. I've done nearly all my PTs either after a 8-10 hour work day or on the weekends (where I'd usually been out the night before).
I'm retaking a 166, and that score was above my PT average at the time. I attribute that to a stronger focus on test day.

I was SHAKING writing my name and statement and such, but as soon as the clock ran, it was right back to business. I felt calm and focused well. Interestingly, I scored right at my test average, but was able to recall nearly the entire test even weeks later. It's like the adrenalin enhanced my memory, but not my ability to score higher. I'm talking I was able to PM people all the rules and characters in all 4 games, and list 40 of the 50ish LR topics, as well as all four RC topics (and the 4 exp I took)... It was bizarre.

What do you guys think of exercising the morning before the test? I think it might help calm the nerves and clear the mind to go for a run on Monday morning.

Mild exercise is a great idea.

Has anyone found their test day performance to be significantly different because of adrenaline? Maybe you preform faster and better or maybe you're not as efficient. I would think fatigue would be easier to overcome.
Also is the writing portion of the test administered after the rest of the exam has been collected already? I would assume so since it's not a part of your score.
Correct.
