So for setting this game up, the rule of thumb for most games is to just ask yourself what the task is. Since we're grouping people into canoes, our diagram should mirror that:
1 2 3
_ _ _
And so on. Note that since one adult must be in each canoe, I'd write a subscript a next to the first line under each boat. Since there are few deductions to this game, after that it's all about following the rules. Hope that helps!
