So for setting this game up, the rule of thumb for most games is to just ask yourself what the task is. Since we're grouping people into canoes, our diagram should mirror that:

And so on. Note that since one adult must be in each canoe, I'd write a subscript a next to the first line under each boat. Since there are few deductions to this game, after that it's all about following the rules. Hope that helps!

How ironic, I was working on this question this morning. It doesn't seem as if there are any incredible inferences that can be made from the rules.

I set the game up as followed below:

Considering every game needs to have one adult, I input the Adult at the top. The numbers signify the groups.

-What we know initially is that 1 Group will have 2 Adults.
-H or T not being in group 2, allows for an h/t split in Group 1 or 3
-F and J being together means that the group these 2 are in will only need one more adult
-If G in a group not T
-If H in a group not R <-- I like rewording those so that I have a better grasp on the rule.

Aside from that, I didn't see any other general inferences. The other inferences come with local questions.
