My question is has anyone taken Kaplan's Summer Intensive? I am looking for people who can speak from experience, not ramble on about their personal opinions like in these other threads...

If anyone has used this method to study, please post your feelings and results. I myself am heading to Boston this July, so I'm willing to report back (for future users) if there is an interest on this thread.

Don't take Kaplan for anything. Spend $300 on self study materials and follow one of the guides on here and pocket the remaining $900 you would have spent on that worthless course.
Or flush $1200 down the toilet, you'll get the same benefit.
Seriously, Kaplan is terrible. Save your money.
Snag the powerscore bibles and some other shit you think is important and just take a bunch of practice tests, focusing on weak sections and question types.

Yep. I've heard nothing but bad things about Kaplan.

@tfleming: I think that Kaplan's Summer Intensive course is much closer to $12,000 than $1,200.

I took the Kaplan Extreme course (not sure if it is close to the same thing) and thought it was not very helpful.

$8500, $12k if you do housing. Completely insane. --LinkRemoved--

This thread is now about what would be considered a bigger waste of money.

Tuition with housing is $11,999. Add in transportation to Boston & the total cost easily exceeds $12,000.

lol what in the actual fuck
Okay, so change of plans. Allocate $300 to self study. Spend $8000 on hookers, booze and cocaine. Send $200 my way for the advice and since you clearly have money to burn.

So basically you spend $12,000 learning the test from people who scored a 168?
Most people don't gun like the populace of top-law-schools.com. They would be happy with someone who scored a ~168.

That's Kaplan's requirement for their LSAT instructors. I believe they have the lowest bar for applicants wishing to be LSAT instructors.
I agree with Gaia, the average consumer is probably suitably impressed with a 168 anyways.

That's not a nationwide requirement, then. In AZ they only require someone to have scored in the 90th percentile. Kaplan blows.
ETA: 90th percentile - 164...

for someone teaching a class

Summer Intensive course uses instructors with 95th% & above. Nationwide it's 90th%.

I wouldn't get tutored by someone that scored less than 175.

The teachers are law school
graduates? So you're learning from flameouts? Seems legit.

There's actually a surprising amount of Kaplan faculty that are law school grads. Scary stuff.

They should all have to disclose where they went. I'd like to know if I was being taught the LSAT by somebody who went to like, Chicago ITT Technical Institute College of Law
