Necessary condition indicators? Or not?

Kaplan says the above two are necessary condition indicators. I'm so confused. Aren't both causal indicators?

If I recall correctly, causal reasoning is a subset of conditional reasoning, so the two aren't mutually exclusive. However, I wouldn't get to hung up about memorizing lists of necessary and sufficient condition indicators because the LSAT is so tricky with its wording that you can't rely on lists alone.
