Taking the LSAT a year before graduating

Would it make sense to take the LSAT this October if I wouldn't be applying until the fall of my senior year (2013)? I decided that this would be the best time for me to study, given I'll have the whole summer to do so. I just ordered the LG Bible and the LR Bible along with a bunch of PTs, and I'm planning on following a lot of the advice that I've read about on here in regards to studying. I took a timed diagnostic earlier this year and got a 163, so I think that if I start now I will be well prepared to take the October test. Personally I really want to take it this year because if I do really well I can just relax for a year and concentrate on my GPA, currently a 3.7. I'm just not sure if taking the LSAT this early poses any sort of problems, such as getting merit-based fee waivers for the following cycle or something else. Thanks!

As it's after the period of time that you'll be studying, i'd say go for it. There won't be any problems unless you decide to work after UG for more than five years; then, you'd have to retake it. Additionally, you'll be able to spend more time, without worrying about LSAT, to put together your application.

Good luck! :)

Yea originally I was just planning on studying a little bit this summer and taking it next year, but I figure if I'm doing really well it would be best to take it in October.
