Everyone in the forum says the secret is to drill your weakness, but I feel that people use the word "drilling" ambiguously

Do you mean just doing the same question type over and over again? e.g., finding 15 tests with assumption questions, and keep doing them? but wouldn't that spoil your tests?

You can drill question types or section types. I think mostly people use the term to refer to question types.

The consensus seems to be that it's worth drilling from earlier prep tests (through the 30s or even 40s) and then leaving the more recent tests intact to take as complete practice tests under test-like conditions.

Yes.

If you do not want to spoil a test, photocopy it first and drill on the photocopies. Or get a book that just arranges a bunch of LR questions by type.
