I seem to consistently be confusing the two.

I have Powerscore LG and LR bibles plus I'm taking a PS class. But I'm still stymied. Everything else is clicking but this.

Any tips on how to correct?

When you recognize the stimulus as an assumption question, if it contains the word "if" than its a sufficient assumptions question. Just like in conditional statements, if indicates a sufficient.
