Top Law Schools

Searched, didn't find anything. Potentially looking to teach on nights/weekends this spring/summer to make some $$ before law school. I only have a 171, though, so I don't qualify for some places. Anybody have info on which places pay the best?

Not really sure about pay, but you could potentially let the students at your school's pre-law club know that you are available to tutor.

Those are probably your best options.. pick from them. You're a point shy from being eligible from Manhattan, according to their website, and you should probably avoid Kaplan since you're able to work at other companies that pay better. If there aren't classes for either of those in your area, however, Kaplan will most likely have one near you.

Whichever has a job available in your area? I'd apply to both. In larger markets these jobs are fairly competitive.

Thanks to the info above. I sent in applications to Blueprint and TestMasters. Any idea what the turnaround timeframe usually is? Do they ever take people who only want to work one summer?

I thought Princeton paid pretty well, $22/hr for classes, $8/hr for prep. And after you've taught the class once, you're pretty familiar with the practice questions and there's really no need to prep.

I'd take TPR first, if I had the option, but like everyone else has said... you should pretty much just take what you can get depending on your market.

Kaplan and Princeton Review are interchangeable in terms of pay/quality. Both pay for teaching, prep, and other work outside the class (like answering students questions over phone/email, attending veteran teacher's lessons, etc.).

Correct. OP, you should check out both companies and see which of the two you like better (obviously I would check out Blueprint and Testmasters first, since they have greater pay). Then, pick whichever 'system' you'd rather teach because you might as well enjoy it so that students actually benefit.

Speaking for Blueprint, we offer $60/hr for the first class you teach, $75/hr for the second, and then $100/hr for every class after that. Schedule is usually 2 weekday nights and a weekend morning. I believe we pay for prep time for the first class you teach, though don't quote me on that (we just changed up our rates, so I don't know if the prep time still gets paid). When you hit the $100/hr level, you'll make $8000+ for teaching a class - not bad for a couple months of working 3 days a week.

We also pay $60/hr for tutoring, and there's plenty of tutoring to be done.
