Once you've studied the logic behind the test, and once you've successfully been able to identify every type of LG and every type of LR question, it seems like a good way to really improve is to combine all these identification methods with your best intuition. Couple that with confidence in your abilities and the scores start to rise.

You can and will finish the test, and you will forget about the previous question (if its particularly difficult) and move on to the next question unshaked.

No, all you need is confidence and the security of having worked on this test for four months and success is very likely.

What if you've only had 7 weeks? Hopefully 4 months isn't a necessary condition for success...

That's a complex question. It depends on what your goal score is and how hard you've worked in those seven weeks.
