Hi all, I'm wondering if someone who knows more about retake trends and such can help me out a bit.

I've got a 3.77 LGPA from a small LAC and I've taken the LSAT once and nabbed a 167. I realize I can get into a number of good schools with those numbers, but I'd like to attend UChicago, for which I know I'll need at least a 172. The obvious answer here is "RETAKE, RETAKE," but I've got a few qualms.

I didn't put too much studying in at all except for the few weeks leading up to the test, but I did use the Knewton online program and had PT's ranging from 156-164. In other words, I beat my PT high by 3 on test day.

If I do retake in June for next cycle, I think I'd use Blueprint, but can anyone chime in on whether retaking and waiting a cycle would be a complete waste of time.

I'd have cut the legs off of midgets for a 3.77

Don't waste that if you legitimately believe you can make above a 170. If you don't think you can then don't waste your time though.

It's pretty rare to hit 3 points above any PT--the vast majority of people do slightly worse than their PT average.

BUT...if you really want it, I would sign up for a course or begin an intensive (like 5 hours a day) study regimen, and then see if you get PT improvement. LSAT prep is weird--I started out with high scores but found it very difficult to improve, but there are many who see dramatic improvements.

If you get to the point where your PT average is at or above 167, I would suggest a retake.

Also--I think you have a chance at cracking T-14 if you blanket this cycle, although Chicago's probably out.
