Limited studying in the week prior to the exam date?

Okay, so I'm most likely going to take the LSAT on February 11, 2012. For my university, that is the end of "Week 5" of our quarter system. Generally, I have midterms during Week 5, usually from Monday-Thursday. During midterms, I tend to drop everything and focus on those classes. I may end up not studying at all for a good 5 days or so, give or take a day. It's possible I may be able to look at LSAT material for 1 or 2 days right before the exam, but it'll likely just be a few practice problems rather than a full PT.

What do you guys think? Is taking 5 days off and taking a last minute glance to do a few problems on the day or 2 before the LSAT a bad idea?

Try out different things. Study for a month. Take 5 days off and pt. See what you score and see if you become rusty or you score well. I myself get really rusty when I take even a weekend off. Studied everyday except the last day.

The other poster gave you some good advice. The only thing I'd add is that taking the LSAT after a stressful week of test-taking isn't the best idea. Any way for you to postpone until June? It's in the afternoon and it's released - two huge reasons I prefer it to February.

yeah take June. February is bad to try to get in this cycle anyway

FWIW, I took around 5 days off of studying in September and my score jumped 8 points on my first PT after that. I think I was getting burned out. But I agree with everyone else, take June if possible (and don't apply this cycle with a February score)

When I took the LSAT in June I think I overstudied and psyched myself out. I took so many PTs in the two weeks leading up to the test, and I had astronomical expectations. I panicked during the test and had to cancel. This time around I did about what you're describing, and it went much better. I don't know my score yet, but its gotta be at least 5 points higher than it would have been in June.

I will not take it in June. The June date is the weekend of final exams, which is even worse than midterms. Plus, it's so close go graduation that I won't have the focus or concentration. I also don't think I'll have much time to study. It's hard to study during the school year. At least for February, I have 4 weeks of winter vacation in December to just study all day.
