First PT 153. Where will I stand after a prep course?

I took my first practice test about two weeks ago and scored a 153. I'm taking the December test, so I've got six more weeks to study. I was wondering what anybody else who got a similar score and took a course got on game day?

No way to know - there are way to many variables, including your natural inclination towards the test, the time dedicated to quality, effective studying, which sections you struggle with, and any number of other things. Big jumps are possible, but the best thing you can do right now is to get off TLS (unless you have specific LSAT questions) and focus as much as you can on prep. Good luck.

I started at a 154 and was practicing well into the 170s, with a high score of 176. You can go as far as you feel like taking yourself, IMO.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for. Thank you. I'm doing the most I can but gave myself the weekend off because I'm very up-to-date on everything for class, spending a long time on each question to get a good grasp on everything. I'm taking it with Blueprint and it seems to be pretty top notch.

To be fair, I did do the work through self-study as opposed to a course. Most of the legwork is going to come from you, so might as well go all out with that. I feel like courses can slow you down sometimes because of the wide range of abilities and score goals that would make up your class.

I like that it breaks it down and goes over every topic. While I may not need as much help with one question, at least the course makes me focus on it and makes sure I'll kill it on test day. Plus, I need the focus and the set of daily goals that the course provides for me.

Whatever you feel works best for you. Just put in the effort and you'll be fine. Good luck!

Not to be a total downer, but six weeks is a pretty short amount of time to expect huge gains. If I were in your shoes, I'd feel much more comfortable studying for the February test. The LSAT is a test that responds very favorably to putting in a lot of prep time - I'm concerned that in six weeks, you won't get enough practice to realize your potential. Best of luck either way.

On your two feet.

That is the only logical response to this question.
