I have been using a digital timer, but I want to get a watch timer that I can use during the real test. anyone can recommend one?

I found the cheapest ugliest watch for $10 at Wal-Mart with HUGE numbers on it... worked perfect for me

Just get a cheap easy to read watch with an hour, minute, and second hand. Reset to 12:00 between each section so it counts the 35 minutes (5 minute warning at 12:30). Get used to practicing this way, as some proctors speed through the "pencils down" break between sections. Even if this is the case though, you will have time to reset your watch.

Waste of money imo. I made pencil marks along the side of my cheap $10 watch... worked just as well

You could also get an analog watch with a chronograph. It will not be as cheap as other things, but if you're looking for an everyday watch anyway, you could just spend a bit more and get an analog watch with a chronograph. Just make sure you know how to use it before test day, and make sure it resets quickly enough between sections. My Seiko watch takes a few seconds to spin all the hands back to zero between sections, but there's enough time when the proctor is saying "put your pencils down, turn to the next section" etc.

I set my watch for 11:25 before each section, so the end of the section was at 12:00, which is easier to see at a glance.

One with a uni-directional rotating bezel (usually diving watches), if you are not currently wearing one. Such feature doesn't have to be expansive, though you can always choose a Rolex Submariner or Omega Seamaster XD

I got this really great watch from Target for the test. it had a rotating piece around the clock that you set whenever the section started and it would show how much time had elapsed since it was set. It was only $12 also.

If you're using an old watch, make sure the batteries are in good shape. I meant to replace my batteries before this test, but didn't get around to doing so. Luckily it worked fine. My watch is about seven years old - on the original batteries. I probably should not have taken that chance.

I figured that even if my watch did die, I could always use the clock in the room. Wrong! The clock in the room was broken. If my watch had broken, I would've only had the proctor's 5 minute warning for time reference.

thank you for the link. If they don't have guys version, I'd still buy it and then paint it black afterwards. haha
