No - you have to do it the same times that the kid eats - about every 3-4 hours with babies.

I'm guessing you can't bring your baby in the ziplock bag.

i nursed my son and it only takes five to ten minutes to empty your udders via pumping. with that said, it causes extreme physical discomfort if you don't. i really think it can be done within the break time though if she was allowed to bring her pump. hell, you can even do it while eating a power bar!

If your break is ten to fifteen minutes I don't see how it's reasonable to pump and still get to go pee or grab a snack. It's putting them at a disadvantage for being a nursing mom which is ridiculous. A nursing mom I know says it takes her at least fifteen minutes to pump and that it really hurts if she doesn't do it. I wouldn't mind if a woman was given an extra few minutes to finish pumping. I doubt that she will be able to brush up on LR in that process.

Is there any argument to be made that you don't need to take the test *now*? It's not like the SATs (or even the bar exam) that's slotted into a much more inflexible date range. We advise people all the time to wait a cycle if their job/school/family situation won't allow for proper studying or they won't be able to get to a testing center or whatever. Is it so much more unreasonable to expect a new mother to wait a few/six/12 months until she's not nursing? She would know at the time she registered for the test if she'd have a new baby by the testing date and about how old it will be, so it's not like having a nursing baby is an unexpected obstacle like suddenly breaking your wrist.

That said, I think that 15 extra minutes during the break and permission to bring a pump to the testing facility wouldn't be unreasonable. I assume they're not asking for extra time on the test itself, because that would be BS.

ETA: also assuming they're just asking permission to empty themselves for comfort/health reasons, not to bring the baby and nurse it. It can damn well have a babysitter and a bottle for one day.

Ok I'm not a parent or anything but I'm pretty sure you don't have to feed your kid every single fucking day.

You can just leave a big bowl of food out like you do for cats, right?

Although not a parent, I agree, why can't you just wait until there's a better time? It's always about the "now," but sometimes--parent or not--it isn't a reality.
