Hi All,

So I started studying for the LSAT in July by taking blueprintprep and started at a 150 cold and brought my score up to a max of a 162 averaging between 157-162. My one problem was timing, I would be able to blast through questions 1-19 or 20 prety well but woudln't have enough time for the last 5 only in Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. Logical Games I would beast getting almost -1 or 0 wrong most times. Timing alone would hurt my score about 15 raw points which is the difference between a 170 and a 160 almost!

I took the October 2011 and am estimating hitting between a 157-163 (my range of scores generally). I feel that if I can work on timing and speed i can easily carve up to the high 160's or even low 170s

I have a 3.9 from a top Business school and I majored in Accounting. I don't want to waste my GPA with a score that won't get me into the schools I want to go to.

The reason I want to retake: I want to go to either NYU or columbia since I need to stay in the tri state area to be with my family.

I won't cancel because I still want to see how i did. Any advice for speed, retaking and or canceling?

Drill drill drill. If you feel good about Games, focus on LR and RC. The more you become familiar with question types, how to read passages, what they are asking you for, the faster you will get. But don't burnout!

Another idea is to set goals for yourself. For example, goals of mine for Arguments:

1-10: 9-10 minutes
11-20: 11-12 minutes
21-25(or 26): 8-9 minutes

Skip any that give me huge trouble, preferably only like 1-3.

That gives me 4 minutes minimum to go back and check things over and answer ones I skipped!

Same can be done for RC

Yeah I definitely will go back and do this. I'm thinking of also getting a blueprint private tutor for maybe an hour or two every so often for help and or analysis of what's going on.... Debating whether its worth the $!
