Variance in PT scores - What to do?

Post by dkb17xzx » Sat Sep 10, 2011 4:14 am

PT Score

38 160
39 164
42 165
43 169
44 164
45 164
46 176
47 169
48 161

My problem seems to be LR (when I predict my score, I end up giving myself a -10 for the section and it is usually in the vicinity). I review each test but I feel like I am just not doing something right.

Any suggestions on what to do? Only 20 days remain and I am almost giving up hope for a 170+ score after taking PT 48. With a 3.7 GPA, I need a miracle to get me to a T-14 school.

20 days is a lot of time to improve. If LR is your problem, have you tried the LR Bible? If you're missing 10 each time, it sounds like you have some distinct gaps in your understanding of LR, and the Bible is king of that. You can work through it in a few days easy.

Take a PT every day. You should shoot for at least 15 before the test.

If your scores keep averaging like above, I'd be surprised if you got over a 164 on the real thing, so kick it in to overdrive!

PinkCow,

Thank you for your response.

I did work through the LR Bible but I am reviewing it again. I am also looking at other places to tie up loose ends. I think my problem is a lack of a strong understanding of conditional reasoning and formal logic.

As the PT's go, I plan on hitting all 63 (and reviewing them) before the exam.
