I try to ignore the words, kinda. Instead of reading "plasma osmolality" I'll read "PO". This way I don't get tangled up in an obscure word and spend my time trying to understand its meaning rather than the overall premise.

My advice is to write them down. All the time. You should be jotting down a bunch of notes on each paragraph of each RC passage. Do this all of the time and get so good at it that it doesn't take too much extra time. Even if it is slightly time consuming, it's better to spend 10 seconds jotting something down than a minute reading something without understanding it at all.
