Normally I try to figure this out on my own, but for some reason this one is really not making sense. I got rid of A and D really easily just because they are out of scope, and B is just a reversal. I ended up choosing C, but I don't really see how E is the correct answer.

The passage ends: "Hence, supporters of political democracy can also support market place regulation." (E) paraphrases this: Opposition to unregulated markets (support for market place regulation) is consistent with (can also support) support for democracy (political democracy).

(C) is the position held by "some economists" mentioned at the beginning of the passage. The placement of "But" in line 4 means that the passage is probably not going to support this view...

Thanks I guess I must have misread something because it makes complete sense now and I feel like a moron.
