Increasing speed on LG

Post by heyhowdyhey » Sat Aug 27, 2011 6:44 pm

HOW do you do this? LG kills me. The last practice test I took I got a 169 (which was admittedly a good improvement over my 162), but I still missed five on LG. If I had gotten -0 on LG, I would have had a 173. Accuracy on LG wasn't my problem... The only questions I missed were ones I just didn't get to due to running out of time.

I would be happy with a score of 169 on the actual test, but I know I can't count on this since it was basically luck that I even got to as many LG as I did. I have been drilling LG nonstop, taken a PS class and gone through the Manhattan LG bible, but I'm still so damn slow at LG.

Are there any strategies just to work on LG speed? What am I doing wrong?

How long does it take to diagram? Are you making tons of hypotheticals?

Are you doing hypo-provided questions first?

The length of diagramming time varies, depending on the type of game. Pure sequencing and linear games take the least time.... Grouping takes the most. And yes, I do find myself making tons of hypotheticals. I am not good at making inferences, I guess. I tend to just try to answer the questions in order.

Just drill games... a LOT. Making inferences gets so much easier the more you drill and become more comfortable with it.
