I know when studying you're suppose to use the more recent ones, but I am just wondering if anyone knew anything about the pre 1990's LSATs, just out of curiousity, what were the sections, why was it changed, where can I see any of the tests etc etc
I've been curious about this too. Was it easier before they redid it in the '90's? I know the scoring was different.

I'm not going to look it up, but there's an article on such things on the lsac website.

Here's a compilation of question types from 1948-1994 (Contains a lot of specific questions).
http://www.lsac.org/LSACResources/Resea ... -94-01.pdf
Some of the old question types were insane, like general knowledge and pattern reasoning (3 shapes are shown and you're asked to figure out the next shape in the sequence). There was also a section on artificial language. You are to look at made-up words and try to apply them to pictures.

Wut.
It does say that the artificial language question type was tested but never implemented.
I love the 'which picture comes next in this series' or 'what does this box look like unfolded' types of questions, though. Those are utter cake to me.

Yeah, you're right. Pretested but never implemented.

Same here, those remind me of something one is likely to see on an IQ test.

The artificial language is kind of simplistic I think...
These are really interesting problem types. I kind of wish some of these were still around to make the LSAT more interesting to take.

Wow. I wish they would put that math section back in for the October test.

In the pdf they mention about the future of test taking being on the computer. Does anyone think the LSAT will ever be administered solely by computer?

Eventually I would think. I was surprised to hear from friends that the MCAT is all computer, but I guess it is the logical follow-up to a paper test.
