Jump from a 165 to a 170+ in 2.5 months? Can I do it?
So I have been scoring about 165-166 on my recent timed practice tests and I have done minimal (maybe 15 hours total) of studying so far.
My goal is to break a 170 in October - ideally a 175...
My GPA is a 3.8, I have an MA, and my goal schools are Stanford and Berkeley
How can I best use these 2 months to bump up my LSAT score? I bought the Logic Games Bible and have begun to read it but apart from that and I am not sure how to best use my time to achieve an excellent score.
Advice? Suggestions? Comments?
Is a goal score of 170+ unrealistic?

Really? Getting to 170 should be almost automatic if you got a 165 with minimal studying.

Rename your thread: 165 to 178 in 2.5 months. Can I do it?
Basically, in 1.5 months you should be in the random PT range that most high scores get into-- variable 172-178 scores.
Getting a 178/180 on the test thereafter will require all possible weaknesses ironed out in the final month and some luck.

Seriously? I should be able to score that high?
I am new to this LSAT prep thing so that is really encouraging.
I'm planning on finishing the Logic Games Bible and then doing lots of practice tests? But are there any other things I should do or books I should buy?

I am also hoping this is the case - I scored a 164 with very minimal studying in Feb. 2009, and since this time I need upwards of 170, I started in May with the LG Bible.
I haven't seen huge improvements yet, but hopefully with more concerted concentration and repetition things will improve.

I took the October test and scored a 166 without even knowing practice exams were available. I took a Testmasters class and studied a lot harder for two months before the June exam, scoring a 178. Don't sell yourself short; with that diag-ish score you need to expect to answer every question correctly. Do the bibles and really understand the concepts. Personally, I think there is too much focus on practice tests on TLS--I only did about ten of them before the June test. I think practicing single sections, passages, games, and question types is just as useful, provided you thoroughly review afterwards.

It is definitely possible. I did it in under 4 weeks of full-time studying, and that's probably more than you'd even need. It was not that uncommon to take a 167 diag and have the next one be a 175. I ended up with a 172.

165+ With 15 hours? Then you have high aptitude for the LSAT. You have no reason to not work your ass off and get a 175+
If you don't I'll be disappointed.
Unless you run an orphanage for refugees or whatever.
