So, I got 166
LG 0
LR -4
RC -8
LR -4
I usually do a little better on RC, but don't do that well on LG as I did this time (usually -2/3)
I currently have 3.8 GPA at Berkeley, not that strong experience, activities, etc.
would retaking and getting a few more points (~2/3) really increase my chance of getting into better law schools?
I'm just not sure whether I should retake because I might get a worse score the second time..
Also, I just studied on my own for this LSAT, would taking a prep course help me dramatically improve my score?

Re: 166 need advice
I think this depends on a couple things. What was your PT average? A couple point drop off on test day is pretty common. And where are you hoping to attend? With a 166, you obviously have a pretty good idea what you're doing already, so a prep course probably wouldn't be helpful.

I agree with poster above and think you'd be bored in a prep class given your 166. Plus, you probably already have a technique and strategy set, and a course would force you to relearn everything using their "method." Save your money and maybe get a high end lsat tutor for a few sessions?

Yeah I would definitely agree with finding a tutor who can work with you based off your individual strengths and weaknesses. A lot of my clients are retakers or people who have already done some studying on their own, and a lot of times a few hours can make a huge difference.

I see.
Tutoring never occurred to me because I thought it would be too expensive but a few sessions can't be that bad.
thanks for the replies! :)
