Third Time Retakers

F*ck it. I'm taking the plunge.

Anyone else in this boat? Looking to take October with hopes at mid 170s...

Also, if I'm applying to schools that generally take the highest LSAT, am I correct in thinking that there is minimal risk to my application if I take a third time? I'll be applying this cycle so the score would update to my app.

Curious, but what schools are you applying to that require mid-170's but don't consider multiple LSAT scores?

It's not a requirement; I'm doing it to increase chances at Michigan RD and hopefully boost scholly chances at lower T14.

I initially thought I had the leeway to ED to Mich but my schedule for the next year rules out the required summer start.

Well, I've retaken more than 3 times, but I'm aiming for the same goal you are. I think the general consensus on here is that multiple tries at the test, as long as you get that score, are fine with schools other than HYS.

I took it in Oct 08 totally not ready. 152

Took in December 10, marginally prepared. 159

Took June, very prepared. Anticipating 168-172.

Good luck on the 168-172.

Thanks for the advice kenneth...I saw you posted a similar thread a while ago and that sounds pretty consistent with what I've already read.

Retaking would be a hell of a lot easier if this test ran on a GMAT schedule. Now I'll be throwing away yet another Chicago summer for the LSAT...woof.

Thanks. It took me using the Powerscore books and practicing regularly. Also some supplements to help my concentration made a lot of difference.

Yeah, multiple scores are fine at most places. The ABA changed reporting requirements so now schools only have to report the highest LSAT, although some of the top, like HYS, still average.

I feel your pain dude, I'm in the Chi too. It's miserable out here most of the year. But you do what you gotta do, and one summer now = mucho payoff later if you get that score.
