If your like me and your desperately trying not to study tonight, this list might help you get through. I watched #9 "the paper chase" last night and it was great. I would recomend watching that for sure, it got me excited to take this test tomorrow. I dont know anything about the other films but it looks like a good place to start since i know the paper chase was good.

Oh my god, the paper chase is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. When I told people I was going to law school, people said you must see the paper chase. I saw it and instantly lost all respect for their taste in movies.

true, the paper chase is shit

I'd rather sit in the library and stare at a wall then watch that movie

My Cousin Vinny, now that's a good movie

anyway i hope you find something on the list that interests you or feel free to add to it as you are

definitely agree with this...i thought it was some amazing movie but it was impossible to sit through

edit: well, John Grisham..."The Firm" is on that list but it wasn't that great; "The Client" or "Runaway Jury" would be a better choice but only deals with litigation/court while "The Firm" is definitely Biglaw in terms of pay, supposedly.

hey, sorry to have been so harsh. wasn't directed at you. I realize it would seem that way. I just have a violent reaction to the paper chase. tbf, I like some objectively bad movies.

Best scene in "The Paper Chase":

Character talking on payphone in hallway states: "Interviews are not going well. The law firms are only hiring graduates from the South because they don't have to teach them manners."

An interesting lawyer movie: Paul Newman in "The Verdict".

I always wondered if other law schools were so intense. Two of my profs thought I was a complete retard because I totally blew cold calls, but they never got angry.

A Time to Kill

Life of David Gale has to be one of Spacey's most underrated films...if you haven't seen it, please do yourself the favor.

It may be shit, but most of my friend's from law school agree that it's much closer to the modern HLS experience than 1L or The Paper Chase.

Also, my evidence prof. used My Cousin Vinnie for teaching points. It is also a great movie.

Doesn't she end up being Co-chair of a trial during 1L. Yes, super realistic.

Yea...that was kind of a joke. Pretty distinct difference between Dave and Samuel L.

I meant more for the social aspect/mood around campus, but definitely wasn't clear on that account.

The classroom scenes (at least from what I remember; can't say I watch in on a regular basis) were decent, though.
