To score from 166-180, does 1 right / wrong make a huge...

... incremental difference in terms of the
raw score?

Totally unscientific, but judging by the curves from PTs 54-62, it seems as though one right or wrong answer makes a huge difference in the overall raw score, if you are scoring anywhere from 166 and above. Am I correct in my assertion?
I'm scoring between 164-172 on the later PTs (timed), but if test day jitters/performance can bring it down a bit, then I guess I'm screwed.

Uh, do you mean scaled score?
Usually from 168-180 it's about 1 scaled point per question missed, depending on the curve.
You'll notice
from the curves that there are even occasions where 2-point jumps from single questions happen.
This is why there are often diminishing returns above 170 in terms of admissions.

yes it does. every question matters past 166ish. I noticed on one of my more recent practice tests I made 3 stupid mistakes then I wanted to see what I would have scored if I got all 3 of them right and it actually only improved by 1 point.
This was on PT 33, i got 81 raw score(166) but made 3 dumb mistakes, checking to see how I woudl have done with those 3 right only moved me up to 167 but then after 167, every extra question moves you up a point. If you are trying to get into a t14 I can see how 1 question/1 point will make or break your day but I am just a bad test-day person so I really couldn't care less as long as I score b/w 164-170 this time. I'm content with going to a t50 school personally. Anything higher then that and I know I will have to work too hard in Law School and won't have enough time to commit my life to things beyond my professional career, aka working on my golf stroke

If that one right or wrong answer is the difference between a 169 and a 170, then it makes a great deal of difference.

Yah, I noticed that too. On one of the newer PTs my score was 168, but I made about 5 obvious/careless errors. So, that would've raised my score from ~168 to ~173. That's a huge difference!

Indeed. As suggested by others, if you've hit 166ish, you're looking at 1 right/wrong = 1 point +/- on the 180 scale, pretty much.

The implication was that 170/x.xx is much more attractive to LS than 169/x.xx

I had to get two more right to get to 177, so I wasn't too pissed that I flubbed an easy question. I would have been pissed though if I missed and went down two levels.

yeah its always nice when you look at your raw score and it says Mininimum 85 Maximum 86 and you get the 85. its like a slap in the face to the guy who got one more question right than you because it dun matter beyotch
