Help: Conforming Principles/Propositions Forum

I seem to struggle with questions that ask me to conform most closely to which of the following principle/proposition. I'm not quite sure how to attack these questions and the correct answer always seems to be the one that seems opposite of what I thought the answer would be. Can anyone shed some light on this? Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
