I have found the strategy of personalizing all the arguments on the LR to be very helpful. This one is no different.
Basically, if you tested samples of products by a supplier, do you think that those tested would be representative of all of the products given to you by a supplier? What would make you test them in the first place? Maybe at looking at them you see a physical deformity or inconsistency, so you decide to test it and see if it is functioning properly. Therefore, if you use this reasoning to select products to test, you are definitely going to get a biased estimator for total proportion of all products that are defective. Thus, answer (D) Overlooks the possibility that the field inspectors tend to choose items for testing that they suspect are defective; is correct.
