Advice: PowerScore vs TestMasters
Seeking advice regarding which FULL-LENGTH course to take.
I'm retaking the LSAT in Oct. and looking for the best possible course to take. From what I've read on the forums, these two seem to be well respected options. I definitely enjoy a structured setting, but would love additional advice on outside/independent study if you guys would like to share.
PowerScore's full-length course would run Aug. 3 - Sept. 28.
TestMasters full-length course would run Jul. 18 - Sept. 28.
Which do you guys prefer? (Mind you, I'm open to ordering books from either one and prepping before the course starts)
Thanks for the time and consideration, guys!

I looked at that... and it is precisely why I've decided to choose between these two options.

Take powerscore. Testmasters' books are very lacking in instructions, and confusing at times. you are fully dependent on the instructor if you take TM. you can see how powerscore teach by looking at their bibles. good luck!

Could I get the powerscore bibles and workbooks now and take the TM class this summer into the fall?

Essentially you could, LG is pretty similar between the two. TM has more 'question types' in LR but it is fairly easy to combine your understanding from PS to TM because the only difference between the 'types' is that TM has the rarer questions set into categories (which contain sometimes only 4 questions from past tests or so)
RC is a little better in TM but that's more or less from the classroom having 'more time' to teach you and that you can potentially ask questions.

Thank you! I will snag the PowerBook bibles and workbooks asap, and also take TM July-September.

PowerScore. Although TestMasters can be effective, several have complained that their scores did not improve by much. PowerScore offers a system; TestMasters primarily works you to exhaustion.

Visit both classes and evaluate the INDIVIDUAL TEACHER. Other differences are negligible, but the instructor can easily make or break the course.
Also, have you considered Blueprint?

This. I'm also taking a TM course from 7/18 - 9/28 because it's the only one that fit into my schedule, but I'm going through the PS bibles until then.iMisto wrote:Thank you! I will snag the PowerBook bibles and workbooks asap, and also take TM July-September.

Alright. Need some last minute advice before I make my purchase on Amazon.
At the moment, I have the following in my 'cart':
PowerScore LRB
PowerScore LGB
10 More Actual, Official LSAT PTs
The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PTs
The Official LSAT SuperPrep
10 Actual, Official Recent LSAT PTs, 41-50
Will these suffice (I am also taking the TM's full-length course)? I'm basically following Pithypike's study schedule. Should I scrap some of these for the PowerScore workbooks? Please help me make a sound decision before my purchase!
I truly appreciate all the help.

i don't know that I see the point of taking a full length course AND all that stuff. You'll get a copy of every question every published with TM or just about any other course, so no need to buy a second copy of those tests.

Ok. Would you recommend lightening the load then? I really don't want to depend on the course alone - would rather prep in addition to it.suspicious android wrote:i don't know that I see the point of taking a full length course AND all that stuff. Maybe snag the bibles, their workbooks, and a single set of tests? In which case, I'd need to know which tests I should really count on...
I'm looking for a thorough response, please.

The Official LSAT SuperPrep is still worth picking up, even if you're in a course. That book's invaluable.
