This 1st problem is annoying me. I got answer choice a correct but i also felt like e might have been a decent pick. I know consumption plays a major role in argument but how does satisfaction play a role? Is the last sentence in the passage there just to confuse you?
Can anyone explain this problem's layout to me?
Thanks in advance

(E) is no good because the stimulus never talks about a "quantitative measure of economic well-being", only a failure to understand its true nature. The question is basically asking you to paraphrase the stimulus, which means you need to avoid adding information that wasn't originally present.
"Satisfaction" does not play a role in the answer. It's just there as support for the first sentence.
