You are invited to join me in my online classroom for the Monday night LSAT Game of the Week.
Would you like to go through a particular LSAT game with a 15-yr LSAT instructor? Now’s your chance. Every Monday night starting this Monday, April 11th until the June LSAT, I’ll be hosting a 45 minute walkthrough of any LSAT game that you, the forum members, wish to discuss.
Just reply in this thread with which game you’d like to talk about. The game to be discussed will be announced on this thread a few hours prior to game time.
Further Details:
Why am I doing this? My company, The Princeton Review, is dedicated to helping folks like you ace the LSAT. Consider this a test drive of our online classroom.
The cost to you: Nothing.
The link:
https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?passw ... id=2007085
The time: Live at 8:30pm Eastern, 5:30pm PST
The tech stuff:
1) You’ll be able to log in with any username you wish, so no information about you will be collected. You will not have to provide a real name or an email address.
2) In order to speak during the session, you’ll need a USB microphone. If you do not have one, you’ll still be able to ask questions, but only via text chat.
So what game would you like me to teach?

I have been having a lot of trouble with this game.

Tricky game indeed. Heres a thread I recently started, and got some really helpful tips. There are answers for two questions in the thread, so heads up if you'd rather work them out yourself.

Thanks to those who attended last night. We did the window/aisle seats game from PT 36 and it didn't turn out to be a very difficult game at all. Our main learning point surrounded "Could be true" questions. Rather than charting out hypotheticals of everything that could be true, we focused on 1) Eliminating those answer choices that you know could NOT be true and then 2) Testing the remaining answer choices to determine which one could be true. Let the answer choices inform your strategy!
What game would you like to cover next Monday night? Same time. Same place. Different game.

Preptest 31, Section 1, Game 4. The game with the framing, priming, etc.
Really would like to know how to get quicker at this game. If there's time, maybe Zephyr Airlines from PrepTest 40.
Looking forward to Monday night!

PT 31 S1 Game 4 (framing, priming...) it is! See you tonight.
Only one game at a time, but I'll put Zephyr airlines at the top of the list for next week.

If you wouldn't mind doing the dog show game (4th game) from October 1991 instead, I would appreciate it.

I have trouble with the In/Out or what Powerscore calls the Grouping-Undefined games. I can't seem to do them within a reasonable amount of time (~9 to 9.5 minutes), so I'd like to request the following games of this type:
October 1997, Preptest 23-Game #2 (Job Applicants game)
June 2000, Preptest 31- Game #2 (CD store game)
Thanks for doing this btw.

You're welcome! Your games are on the list of nominees for next week.
I select the Game of the Week on Monday around noon (pacific time) and post the final selection in this thread. This gives you sufficient time to vote, and me sufficient time to prepare.
In the case of a tie, I will select the game with the most value (common patterns, good learning points etc...)
Thanks to all who attended tonight. See you next week.

Tonight, we'll be doing the CD store game - June 2000, Preptest 31- Game #2.
I often hear that this is one of the hardest games ever, but it's really not bad at all. It's a conditional game. So if you're interested in conditionals, contrapositives, and why linking conditional clues together is a poor technique, join me tonight for the Monday Night Game of the Week!

Currently in the lead: Dog show (Oct. '91) and Job Applicants (Oct. '97).
I'm leaning toward job applicants, as that one's somewhat unique and tricky, but am still open to nominees! See ya'll next Mon. night.

Any other nominees? I guess dog show is in the lead for tomorrow night's GOTW. Let me know whether there's any interest in covering a different game.

The Dog Show game is so old that I fear that it's not as representative of current LSAT games as it should be. So instead, we'll be doing the lighting control panel game from pt 47. This game has a weird twist in it, so we'll learn how to cope when you are faced with something weird and different. Also, this game features two Minimum/Maximum questions in it, so if you don't have a systematic approach for dealing with those questions, you can learn one tonight.
See you in a few hours!

Any nominees for tonight's game? You name it, and I'll show you how to think about and how to do it in the most efficient way possible.

if anyone's having trouble with logic games, definitely log in to jake's sessions. i went last week and it was great. he really breaks down the logic games, and even though i'm used to the powerscore methodology, i had no problems following. plus...it's free!
